My BFF just gave me a new gallon sized water jug today, and before I use it, can anyone tell me how I can possibly figure out how much (in volume) it will hold?

    very small rocks

Did some moistened bink lob a scimitar at you?!?!

My jugs have weighed the same for about 25 years now...8 pounds? Sounds about right...
Why did I only start to get thirsty after reading your post when the entire thread has been about so much water??

Simple...because my jugs are for more than just holding water...

lets just go with craptons and leave it at that.

How many craptons does it take to make a buttload?

I'm not as creative as some, so i'll be the one to give another practical answer...

If its gallon sized, probably holds a gallon (without ice)
and if you fill it full of ice, it will probably hold a half gallon...

This thread has had me giggling....a great way to lift the spirits!

My first thought when entering the thread was...

"I'm so going to tell them that even numbers on volume of stereo, TV, car radio..etc is best!"
