The suggested weight for 5'1 female is
101 lbs - 130lbs
2 of my girl friends wear size 0, 2 and they weight around 135 lbs. I thought they are less than 105 lbs. It was a surprise for me
because they look like they are too thin... hardly any fat on.
I could not visual myself get any smaller than 130 lbs or i will ever go down to size 0.
i think i will look real good at 150 lbs.
Here are my questions if you don't mind answer it.
How much do you weight and what pant size do you wear?
or what was the smallest size you wear and how much did you weight
how many lbs you lose to get down to one size?
Me- 175 lbs between size 14-16 lbs. For each 10 lbs, i lose about one size of clothes.
___________
Count down; I will lose additional 22 lbs by xgiving (10 weeks).
I'm about 5'2", my weight fluctuates between 109 and 115, and I wear size 0 or 2.
And congrats Kelly!0 -
I'm 5'2 and currently weigh 153 in size 10/12 depending on brand. When I first started MFP I was 163 and wore 12 mostly and some 14s.0
-
I'm 5'0" and weigh 110lbs, jeans depends on the brand name I can wear a little girls 14/16 to an XS/S to a 0/2/4. My jeans are usually Hollister, Express and AE0

I think that a lot of this depends on muscle mass.
I am 5 foot 2 and I currently weigh 180lbs and wear a size 12 (sometimes 14). When I was at my heaviest 250lbs I was in size 22-24. However, when I was in highschool I was 145lbs and in a size 12. But with all the weight training I have done I think the difference between now and then is the muscle I have put on. I am more "dense" then before :laugh:0 -
I am at my heaviest right now. I am 5'2 and at 150.2. I wear about a 6-8 depending on store and fabric.
My smallest size was a 2 and I was probably about 115... that was in high school. LOL. Smallest as an adult was a 4 at 120.
It all depends on your body about losing a size. I can lose 10 lbs and still not change a size but things just feel better. I mostly gain weight in my stomach. after a certain amount of weight gain my legs start feeling it.
I hope to get back down to 120 and a size 4.0 -
I'm 5'2 and weigh 130lbs and wears 9/10 or at times 7/8. But I dont' know anymore. It's strange. My hips aren't that big anyways.0

Posted in the middle of my sentence. :huh:0

I'm 5'0 and 132 and wear a size 4-6 depending on the cut and what it is (dress v. pants/shorts). In the past 4 years I've lost about 20-25 lbs and 5 pant sizes.0

I think the reason y I'm a bigger size is because of the extra fat and skin on my stomach from having three kids. I'd love to lose it, but its so stubborn at this moment. :grumble:0

I'm 5'0 and weigh 136 and wear a size petite 6. At my heaviest I was 175 lbs and wore a size 14. At my lightest I was around 125 and wore a size 4. I have a really dense build.0

That's great. I was looking at your profile. How long did it take you to lose 25lbs?
The first 15 came off in about 3 months the last 10 took about 9 months. Once I figured out to add strength training as a core part of my routine it completely changed my shape. It is so hard to be short I still flucutate 4-5 lbs either way but have been relatively the same weight for 3 years now.0 -
So interesting to see what everyone wears for their height/weight! I am 5' 3.75" (yes, I claim that .75" so I'm not just 5'3" ) and currently weigh in at 129. My heaviest ever was 167 when I was 14 and I think I was wearing a size twelve then. At 155 I'm a 10, 145 an 8, 135 a 6. I'm currently wearing a 4/6 depending on the brand:
H & M: 6
Ann Taylor Loft: 4p
most jeans: 28 (can squeeze into a 27 if cut big, but 28 is comfortable).
Nanette Lapore: 4 dress
Theory: 6 pant, 4 dress
I'm a little bottom heavy ( can we say booty-licious? ) with a larger chest, but a smaller back. My goal weight is 125, or to fit comfortable in a size 4/ size 27.
I must say I love my height, but HATE being at the in-between point for petites and regular. Too short for one, to tall for the other!
Good luck to everyone reaching their goals! Stick with it. I am getting so close I can taste it! MFP has been a life saver for me.

I had to come into the thread with my vertically challenged sisters and tell this story.
Today I went into the office. It was jeans day, so I had my new jeans on and a pair of 70s style platform shoes. I always wore flats when I was over weight and out of shape, because my feet hurt so bad.
Well this sweet guy I work with, who hasnt seen me for a while, walks up to me...........eyes me.....smiles..............."Hmmmm something is different?"
I am beaming.........." Why yes, I lost 30 something pounds!! "
He replies " Ummmmmmm, nooooooooooo you are taller!!!!!!"
Thank goodness I have a great sense of self AND humour!! I LOL and said " Nooooooooooo I lost 30 something pounds and BOUGHT taller!!! "0 -
The most important factor in weight vs. height comparisons is frame size. My BFF in high school was 4'11 &1/2 & weighed about 90lbs.....but she was very small-framed---I could hold her wrist between my thumb & pinky & have room to spare. She considered herself "fat" because she had "lumpy thighs" despite the fact that size 0 pants were big on her. On the other hand, another friend was 125 @ 5'3, wore a size 2 & was in great shape--she was the girl everyone envied in a bathing suit because of her shape.
So don't focus too much on the weight...You can always adjust your goal up or down based on how you feel about your body as you get closer to your current goal0 -
I'm glad that i can wear petite clothes now. It does fit better

I am 5'3". Currently I am at 143 lbs and wear a 6-8. At my smallest I was 115 and a loose 4, at my largest I was 169 and a tight 12. I'm aiming to get down to about 125 which I figure will put me in a solid 4.
Not just GAP try CONVERSE bootcut jeans ladies!! They are roomy for my thunder thighs so the waist fits too instead of gapping and falling down! :noway:0 -

I'm 5'3" and right now I'm at 125 and in a size 6 and some 4's. At my highest weight I was 190 and in a size 16/18.My lowest weight was the last few years where I was at around 110 and in a size 2, some 1's..............I was thinking that I wanted to get back down to 110 but I am concentrating right now on losing inches and toning up more. If I happen to get back down to 110 then so be it!:bigsmile:0

right this has made me feel abit weird lol... alot of people who're 5'3'' and around 144-148lbs are saying they're size 8-10 but i'm about size 10-12 on top and 12-14 on bottom and i've been like that for the last year and don't seem to be going down from a 12-14 on bottom and now that i know other people are different i'm feeling abit discouraged
any1 got any advice for how to lose weight on the bottom half of your body?

What are you doing for cardio? Maybe change it up. Running made the biggest difference for me. I don't run far and I don't run fast but adding it into my walking made a difference.0 -
I'm 5'3 and weigh 128.5. I wear a size 4. I want to lose a few more pounds and don't have far to go. I'm only losing .5 pound every two weeks. Better than nothing.0

Emma,
Looks like you are from England? Are you taking into account the conversion between UK and American sizing? I think a UK 10 is an American 8 or something like that...
