Which set of calories should I trust?

Hi all,

I use an omron pedometer/calorie counter. A lot like a FitBit but it can`t tell the difference between hard exercise. It can`t filter lifting or even sitting vs. standing. So the cal count is probabaly a bit higher.
It gets my TDEE at about 3000 cal any given day.

Fat2Fit radio estimates my TDEE at 2300 at my goal weight of 160.

Another site, scooby, site reccommended by someone I trust.... reccomends eating at 1920 (500 cal deficit worked in)

So should I eat at 2500, 2300, or 1920.

I so far tried from 1800 then 2000 then 2300 for a week each.
I gained a lb each week. I know I should eat more to weigh less, but how much more? 2500 sounds like a lot for a girl of 5'8" even if she is active.
What do you think I should do? Appreciate the input.

    Hiya!

Are you trying to lose weight? I'm a bit confused. If you want to lose weight you shouldn't be eating your TDEE. Maybe figure out your BMR and eat at least 20% (sendetary level) above that number. See if you lose any weight doing that... and maybe stick with it for a month or two just to settle your body if you've been eating different rates of calories for a while.

    Trying to lose weight.

I thought if I eat my goal weight TDEE, Goal weight, then I will get there eventually. But unfortunately, I gained weight instead.

If my TDEE is 3000 then eating at 1920 would put me more than a 1000 calories in deficit. That might be too much after my yo yo dieting. Plus I gained weight eating at that number. The more I think about it the less successful I am in the weight loss department.
