Anybody tried this? I recently watched Forks Over Knives and read The China Study and it REALLY opened my eyes to just how we're poisoning ourselves with food.

I haven't read his book, but am familiar with the Author through 21-Day Vegan Kickstart. I've been vegan since July 2010 and have had remarkable results. I say...go for it!!

Awesome! I'd love to know some of the specifics!

I went vegetarian in January and the weight DROPPED off. Thought of taking it a step further as I felt really healthy and energized on the diet and i think the higher fiber content is REALLY good for you.

If you are generally eating like ****, or even simply don't cook at home often, don't eat a healthy variety of things. A change to very natural, healthy ingredients will make a night and day difference.

I enjoyed Forks over Knives, but keep in mind the China Study was kind of flawed. Nonetheless the overall point was solid.

However, there are obese, unhealthy vegetarians.

I'm a 390+lb dude who grew up mainly in the US and cannot tell you what a Big Mac tastes like, or a Whopper etc. I got fat eating the good stuff. It all comes down to calories in/out, but changing things up can make a difference as others here have stated. I've become sort of an incidental vegetarian (who eats fish) just by focusing on eating more of the healthier items I was used to. Nonetheless I won't hesitiate to go grab some chicken pad thai if it is within my calories and I'm hungry enough (ohgodchickensputonearthtobedeliciousoooogoooood)

Just be mindful of all the talk of "toxins" and cleansing etc...that's all kind of horsesh*t.

I'm kind of into statistics, so I'm interested in dissecting the China study. the interesting this is how the book itself dedicates just one chapter of 18 to that study - the rest is other research.

Totally with you on the detox and cleanse etc. BS on an epic scale.
