Is it safe to do arm and ab workouts (with weights) 5-6 days a week or is less better? Thanks all!

If you do other lifting you will be using these muscles as well and won't need to do that many days of isolated exercise...for example if you do squats, deadlifts or walking lunges with weights, you are using your core the whole time! Also I like to do compound exercises like squat cleans which also work your shoulders and arms. I like to get away with as little time in the gym as possible by making the most of it!

I wish I had access to a gym with real weights. Right now I have my apartment gym which has cardio machine and my small dumbbell collection (up to 10 lbs) at home. I'd LOVE to start lifting heavy!

If you have 10 pound dummbells start with those...do walking lunges, or backward lunges with a bicep curl, etc.. You can start small and eventually work your way up.

RE Arms: You get more bang for your buck by focusing less on direct arm work and put some focus on compound exercises like the bench press and/or shoulder press, rowing exercises, and chin-ups. All of those exercises stimulate the main muscle group as well as arms. Then you could do arms once or twice a week.
