Calorie intake to low?

Hi guys and gals just a quick question.

I am 238.8 lbs (as of this morning when I woke up), I have set up goals I want to obtain in terms of weight loss. I am a bigger build male (not just fat, I am also very strong), Is 1400 calories a day to little? I havnt found myself hungry or anything, I just dont want to starve my body.

Thanks!

    I'm 238 also (5'9") and I'm losing fairly steadily on 1800.

1400 may be fine for you. You certainly won't starve on it. Just see how fast you lose on 1400 and if it's more than about 2lbs/week, consider adding some extra cals, just to make sure your metabolism doesn't adapt too quickly.

That's right. If you find that you start to stall, it may be because you have too few cals. At that point, up the cals a couple of hundred and weight should come off again. I know I'm a girl, but the basics are the same, and it happened for me at 1200 cals I lost quick at the beginning, then have had to increase to 1700. The weight is steadily coming off 1-2lbs per week now.

Have you looked at fat2fitradio.com and used their tools?

As they have said, you should be fine! Especially if you aren't feeling like you're being starved! The only time it would be a problem is if you go into a stagnant phase or do feel hungry, then I'd say add to your goal and that should then bump you through! Best of luck!
