I'm confused with my body :(

I've recently started to change my life and now I eat (80% of the time) healthy foods, drink 2L of water a day, and I also exercise for about an hour a day everyday, and I do intervals, cardio, toning etc. I'm just confused right now, I just started this last Tuesday (April 24th) and I've lost 7 pounds in seven days. The first few days I noticed that I was getting stronger and I can do proper push ups for about 2 minutes non stop, (I'm so proud of myself lol) and then, after a few days I noticed that I was getting smaller.
My questions are:
Will this stop?
If so, will my body be alright if I keep going?
(I really want to lose about 40 pounds by the end of august )
I just want to make sure this drastic amount of weight loss is normal.
Thanks; Renée

It's normal and exciting initially. Usually it's due to shifting water. You are likely eating less salt and carbohydrates given the healthier foods, plus you're washing the salt you do take in out with the extra water.
The biggest problem is that people get really excited and think the pound a day loss will go on for the rest of the time they're on their diet. Nuh uh. Not going to happen. If you continue to fight the good fight, keep your intake at or lower than goal, you should sputter your way to your goal (I weight myself daily and see a lot of upping and downing--you shouldn't let it discourage you).
Good luck with the rest of your weight loss efforts and don't worry right now--it sounds like it's all good!0
