part of my new approach to cooking is to use less condiments when cooking, my beloved non stick skillet is ready to retire as it has been abused by many dishwasher trips... anyone can recommend a good reliable one?

We have a few Scanpans, in varying sizes, and LOVE them. Very reliable and get my recommendation. (Though I also recommend that you don't put them in the dishwasher, if you want them to last longer. They're super easy to clean with a little dish soap and scrub brush, no matter what you've prepared in them.)

I use a T~fal. I can cook eggs in it without oils or sprays and they do not stick. I love it.

I just ditched all of mine due to what happens with the teflon compounds as the pan ages. My new steel pans are working fine. Also, dropping fat intake too low tends to drop HDL cholesterol, which isn't good for long-term cardiac health. I usually add a little olive oil to the pan when cooking.
  • All-clad. They're heavy and they distribute heat evening. They're pricey, but I love mine. NO DISHWASHER though.
