Upping your water intake should help, not hinder your bowel movements. How strange! I would increase fibre in your diet, so plenty of fruit and vegetable and other fibre rich foods. You can probably get your food diary here on MFP to track your fibre too which would help you see exactly how much fibre you're getting. You could also try taking Metamucil every day for a while to get you more regular and too a better consistency for want of a better word. lol.0

I found it got a whole lot better when I dropped the gluten/starch stuff and continued with exuberant metamucil use (I take it 3 times a day). You may be missing the caffeine. Maybe some green tea?0

Adding a tbsp to two of flaxseed a day really helped me.0
-
Hot coffee usually helps with the plumbing issues, at least for me.0
-
Lots of fiber and water, and possibly a supplement. You might want to see a GI doc about possible IBS (or something else).0
-
Instant coffee and/or boiled cabbage work every time for me...0

I had that issue too! Took about a month to figure out I was eating too much lettuce. I cut back on salads and increased other veggies. Have fruit with every meal. Chia seeds help too.0

Chia seeds, flaxseeds, probiotics.0

Fiber is your friend. As others have said eat more fruit and veg. Oats, beans, berries, and dark green vegetables like spinach, and even nuts.0
-
Try dried prunes or prune juice, that sorted me out very adequately. Alternatively , just add more fruit like pears, and lots of veggies.0

Absolutely nothing helped me except insane amounts of water and Miralax. I take a capful in my coffee every morning, and drink ALL of my water. ALL being 12-16 cups.0

I eat almonds, and unbelievable as it sounds, it works. I have 24 each day (1 serving) and I'm more regular than I have been in years.0
-
I take Miralax0

I suffer from IBS with constipation. I take 2 Citrucel caplets every day (less gas producing than Metamucil and easier to remember) along with 2 stool softeners (docusate sodium). If I haven't gone for a couple days I add a cap of Miralax into 16 oz. of water before I go to bed. Hope this helps some.0

Don't forget that if you are eating LESS than you have less waste to get rid of....0

I drink Metamucil every night its help to control your cholesterol and help you go every morning on time and it tastes good too if you like oranges I have taken it for 2 years now and every time I go for blood work its perfect It even helps your BP0

I eat over 40 grams of fiber a day and I get it mostly from veggies and beans (Walmart great value red beans have 32 gram a cup cooked). But no matter how many grams of fiber I eat, if I don't drink at least (8) eight oz of water a day, I am not regular. The more water I drink, the more often I flow and go! LOL!0

Make sure your getting plenty of fiber. The more soluble (sp) fiber you ingest, the better your bowel movements will be. Make sure to add that with ruffage. Green leafy vegetables, asparagus, broccoli, all that good stuff. I would add metamucil to my diet too.0

check with your MD about the problem, we can only guess (and there can be a problem with getting to much fiber and water).
a quick and easy solution if you're not allergic: organic coconut oil about 1 tablespoon a day, cook with it, add it to protein shakes/smoothies, ect. softens the stool.0 -
Oh i have this too... in fact, it is really bad at times. I have seen a specialist and they can't find anything wrong.
I take Miralax, one dose a day, for up to two weeks. It really helps but it is expencive.
And never, NEVER.... NEVER (as big and bold as i can make it) eat that Phsylium (sp?) stuff that is Fiber One food. It has me doubled over within hours.0 -

I started adding psyllium husk to my cereal a couple of weeks ago and it has really help with my bowels.......I've had no adverse affect to it.....0 -
magnesium. my holistic dr. suggested it.0
-
Smooth Tea - Brew it before bed time and guaranteed to have a movement the next morning.0

I would think they should come out easier now that you stopped all that stuff. I would double your water intake and see if that helps. I would also get more fiber either through salads and fruits or just adding benefiber to food or beverages.0

A magnesium tablet or smooth move tea before bed work wonderfully0
-
Take fiber fiber fiber LOL If you dont eat the right foods....And I dont do alot of veg/fruits It may help I recommend Metamucil orange it comes in suger free also!0

I used to have the same problems, till i started eating better. BUT yesterday I made a smoothie with Organic apple juice (it literally is JUST apples nothing else added into the juice) and It got A LOT out of me lol. TMI. But hey at least it gets things moving. Apples are high in fiber so drinking an 8oz glass of apple juice is like eating 3 apples so it will help things move along.0

Eat more fiber. I need to do 40 grams of fiber a day or I have the same problem. Miralax works wonders for me. Also try fiber gummies. For 2 they are 10 calories and they give you 5 grams of fiber per day. If I am having a problem I take them 2x daily. I hope this helps.0

This Times 10! Add more healthy fats, flax and olive oil are great. Water, water, water. I haven't had a problem since!0 -
Generally upping my fiber intake helps out, and/or drinking some strong coffee or espresso. if those don't work, Senna (I use CVS generic tabs) do..0
