Okay so I started this a week ago and I think I like it a lot. I can honestly see a huge difference from how I was eating before to how I am eating now. I would always eat when I was bored and I rarely ate when I was actually hungry. Now I eat a smaller sized breakfast, eat lunch when I'm actually hungry, and dinner when I'm hungry too. I can see a lot of differences between the sizes and types of meals I ate before and now. I feel better physically now too in just a week because I'm not stuffing my face on crap foods. I still have trouble pushing myself to actually go to the gym after work instead of relaxing at home and I know this will be harder once I start school. I feel motivated it's just I'm still lazy but no one ever said you can't be both. I'm also very happy to say that I found a proper substitute for my chocolate addiction; skinny cow dreamy clusters are amazing! I can actually enjoy eating chocolate and still be healthy! I also substituted my chips addiction with special k chips which sometimes does the trick other times I still feel like falling back to the one crunchy classic. I hope that I will stay on the ball with this I have already lost a bit or weight and inches but I don't feel like it's fully about that I feel like its about being happy and healthy before anything else. Hope everyone else is happy and healthy too!

I have been wanting to reply to this all afternoon, but I didn't have enough time. Fist off, Congratulations on week one! You knew this wasn't going to be the easiest thing, but you wanted to make a change, a change for you! A healthier you, a sexier you, a determined you! We are all learning so much as we take this challenge on and you mentioned when and why you used to eat. It is really good that you are more selective now. It is almost like eating is more of a treat now because I wait until I am hungry.
I think you are doing great but I had an idea that I wanted to bounce off you... You mentioned that you have a challenge getting to the gym after work, and that is understandable.. you are tired and want to end your day. What do you think about getting up early and going to the gym? Maybe packing a bag and hitting it on your way to work or school? Then you get your workout in, you kick start your metabolism, and the big benefit is you are working off straight body fat. Your stomach is empty so you are burning more of yesterday's calories.
Lastly, I wanted to applaud you, and your perspective. It should NOT be about a number on a scale, it should be about feeling good, being healthy, looking like you want to look. We are all different shapes and sizes and all I could want for anyone is that they are happy and proud of themselves.... not the perfect weight. I really like your mindset! You are doing great, you are making good choices and you are already seeing the difference. Keep up the great work!0 -
Welcome! I love MFP and I'm glad to hear you are finding it helpful. I found your post interesting because you mentioned my new 2 favorite foods: Skinny cow ice cream and Special K chips! I love them! If you are looking for a friend to help motivate and talk about weight loss and nutrition feel free to add me!0

Thanks Chris and sadly I am terrible with the mornings. I am normally juggling ten things at once. Its crazy sometimes working a 45 hour work week, going to school full time, and trying to still figure out how to relax, have fun and be a normal 21 year old at the same time lol I think personally I'm better if I don't even stop home after work so I got myself a huge marvel comics gym bag (cus I'm a nerd) and now I feel like I am a bit more motivated to go right to the gym. If I get there I will stay there sometimes for two hours lol it's just the getting there part that annoys me. If I did have time though when it was nicer outside in the mornings I would go out for runs before work you make me want to try that again thanks! :happy:0
