Ok! So basically what I do with the trainer is weight lifting. At first we were doing split sets (core, shoulders, legs one day, back, chest, arms a few days later). We have changed it to whole body workouts recently and that's when my weight loss has kicked in. I warm up about 20 minutes before each weight lifting day (usually elliptical), I do my weight training, and (here's the important part) after the weight lifting I do 20 minutes of interval training either on the treadmill, elliptical, or the dreaded stair climber. The interval training is what burns the most calories, especially after weight lifting. On days that I don't lift, I do 40-60 minutes of cardio (again, I do intervals). I have also recently added in a barbell class that is offered at my gym and I do Zumba once a week. Here's what a typical session looks like although I do something every time I go, this just happens to be what I did at my last one.
20 minute elliptical warmup
Ab bench (45 seconds, 3x)
Side planks, both sides (45 seconds, 3x)
Hanging knee raises (15, 2x)
Hanging scissor kicks (30 seconds, 2x)
Squats on Bosu ball with shoulder press, 10 lb weights 15, 3x)
Step up with knee raise, 40 lb straight bar on meaty part across shoulders (15 on each leg, 2x)
Stand on Bosu ball 30lb straight bar military presses (15, 3x)
20 minute intervals on cardio machine
Like I said, it changes every time. But I definitely feel better afterwards! Hope this helped!!0 -
how bout calories wise.....do u eat more since u workout so hard or do u not eat back ur exercise cals?0
-
I actually don't keep track of my food like I should. I eat when I'm hungry and I stop when I'm satisfied. I don't think I'm under eating at all, because I really do eat. I'll just get busy with the kids and forget to track it. I eat a HUGE breakfast though. Typically, I have oatmeal, 3 eggs (1 whole, 2 egg whites cooked in olive oil), and a protein shake. For a snack I'll eat some almonds or an orange, lunch is usually a turkey sandwich with veggies, another snack of almonds or orange, and for dinner I have been making new recipes, but they're clean eating recipes. Like, stuffed bell peppers, or chicken and spinach in the crock pot. One might we had clean eatin taco salad. Sooo good!
Also, I have 2 scoops of protein in water after I workout.0 -
U look amazing keep up the good work0

that sounds like a great workout...
I want to add some weight lifting in my exercise routine, but sometimes I dont know what I should be doing.
I have been doing 40-60 mins of cardio at the gym usually.0 -
