April Summary

So many people focus solely on day to day numbers, which is great, but it's easy to lose perspective. The last few months I've been putting more emphasis on weekly numbers, which has been a HUGE help to me, especially when I have weak moments or bad days with my eating habits.
Today I went back and looked at my monthly numbers for April and was pleasantly surprised.
Averages per day over the course of the month:
- 415 cals burned through exercise
- 2030 cals consumed (net)
- 76g fat
- 225g carbs
- 215g protein.
- weight Loss: 2lbs
- visual body change: noticeable
So while I had some good days and bad days, and a good weeks and bad weeks, at the end of the month I was almost EXACTLY where I wanted to be seeing EXACTLY the results I was hoping for.
I do wish there was an easy way to see how many cardio and strength sessions I had though.

I can't believe nobody ever replies to these posts... anyway, great work! I (as you noticed/commented) started doing your "week-in-review" style and it really, REALLY helped me not micro-manage my nutrition. Before if I had a bad day, I thought all was lost... I always thought of this as a long-term (read: lifetime) process, but doing the weekly thing really put it into perspective.
Anyway, not going to hijack the thread - impressive month, and glad it has shown (especially the visual body change, which I know does wonders for most people)

It definitely helps with the "all is lost" feeling, but it also helps, at least for me, keep my bad days from getting out of control. In the past I'd have a bad day, and that evening think to myself, "it's been a lousy day, might as well enjoy myself tonight" and it would only spiral out of control from there.
Looking at things with a bit wider perspective helps keep you accountable on both sides of the conversation - (1) Yes, you can fix/make up for a bad day, and (2) you've only got the rest of the week to make up for today, so don't let today get TOO bad.0
