I recently started running with the C25K program. I also do P90X. Every time I run my shins KILL me! I forgot about the dreaded shin splints I used to get when I ran in high school. Any advice on helping them? Thanks!

    Rest and better fitting/supporting shoes.

Go get fitted for shoes! I had these and had to stop running for about a week before they eased up. They can be expensive but well worth it. I have new ones and they feel like cushions on my feet! I have ones that are both comfort and support (I have a seperate insole) they cost me just short of £100. So be prepared for a hefty bill.

its amazing how much difference the shoe makes, i used to try it in crappy trainers when i first started going to the gym and quickly dismissed the treadmill because it killed after like 1 minute. got some proper running shoes now and doesnt hurt at all! some people need high arch trainers as well (i do) so its worth finding what foot type you have so you get the right support

once you've done everything everyone suggests you do... and keep on running, the problem will eventually go away! (atleast it should)

i used to get HORRIBLE shin splints where id be pretty much limping to get home after running! now i never get shin splints or side stitch or anything else associated with running other than tired.

your shoes could very well be the problem though!

Shoes may help, but you need to work on building the muscle. That all that will really help. Some people 'grow' out of the shin splint issue altogether. Sorry you're having the issue!
