When you measure your hips

do you go around the abdomen or below because that will make a huge difference in inches.

for waist its smallest part of your abdomen and for hips i believe its just above your butt and just below your belly button..not entirely sure..if you go to lulus.com and look at dresses, they tell you how to measure yourself haha0

Bump--because I fully understand your question and I have also looked at all the pictures of where to measure and none of them have models that are large enough to have that problem.0

If you're just going to use the measurements to see if you've been losing weight, then you can be a little bit less strict about where on your hips you go, just as long as you measure in the same spot every time. I have hip piercings, so I measure right underneath them. However if you need it for clothing sizes or something like that, then I would watch a few Youtube videos and see what they do.0
