Rolled my foot...again!

I guess I am just on here to complain that I rolled my foot yet again. I have an appointment to see a doctor to find out how to strengthen the muscle. I guess I am just looking for support. I just got back from a cruise where I know I over ate and drank (it was my bachlorette party and I knew it would happen) So now that I have a somewhat bum foot and I also feel like I got sick a little from the cruise ship. I want to go to spin tonight but I also feel exhausted and the foot just started feeling better. I have been really good with my calories since I have the bum foot. Encouragement please!
Also anyone have chronic ankle foot issues? Is there anything I should be doing to help it out.

I have had HORRENDOUS problems with my ankles, especially the right one.
I've rolled them and twisted them I don't know HOW many times over the last 25 years.
The last two times were brutal; so bad that I lost my job due to the fact that I couldn't work.
The worst thing is that it's made me fearful of doing certain things. I even get nervous walking down a flight of stairs or walking down a hill too fast. Talk about paranoia!
I really want to do "Couch to 5k" but I'm terrified that I'm going to wreck myself while running. I did go to Amazon.com to find an ankle brace. I'm hoping that it gives me some support and makes my ankle feel more stable. I'm also hoping that by the time it arrives in the mail I'll be over my nerves and able to actually wear it and put it to use!0 -

I tore my right ankle up long long ago in college. Rolled it playing volleyball and tore ligaments. 2 years later and I could roll it just stepping off a curb. I ended up wearing an ankle support for 5 or 6 years. 20 years later and the ankle is stable BUT it turns outward about 15 degrees. I can't stand with both feet parallel for any amount of time.
Sadly, ankles are hard to heal. My doc told me that breaking the ankle is easier to recover from than high ankle sprains. Stand on the edge of a step with just your toes on the step. Raise up and then lower yourself as much as possible. Press the edge of your foot against the edge of a door and push as hard as you can. Then do the other side of your foot.
Wear ankle support ALWAYS when doing any sports. Lots of ice after activity. see a sports medicine doc and/or a sports therapist.

Thanks everyone, like I said I just hate not being able to run and do other workouts like that. I am going to have to spin and swim until I see the doctor on tuesday.0
