Hi...first time caller here. Just starting out with MFP after some friends have had great results utilizing it...
I started on my weightloss in 2008 when I went from 170 to 145. I kept most of that off pretty well...I've pretty much stayed right between 146-153 until now.
In March I did Advocare's 24 day challenge. I ate perfectly - avoided added sugars, white flour items etc. Had loads of fresh veggies every day along with a protein about 5 times a day. I didn't cheat once and did everything just like I was suppose to do... At the end of my 24 days, I had lost a whopping 3 lbs (from 153 to 150). I was so frustrated and went on an eating binge for a week...and didn't gain anything. I just don't get it...the Advocare people didn't get it either.
I've started back last week with my 5 small meals a day. I pretty much eat the same things every day: boiled egg/banana for breakfast, 0% Greek yogurt/raspberries for snack, can of water based tuna/boiled egg/tomatoes lunch, lean protein/veggie/maybe brown rice for dinner and then there's some fruit and almonds thrown in in various places.
That's it. I drink water constantly and have 1 cup of coffee in the morning with 1 Sweet n Low.
No matter how much or how little I eat - my weight never varies over 1-3 lbs. I started back walking/running today for the first time since the summer hoping that will help some.
I'm open to any/all advice. I really want to do this the right way...

Welcome to MFP. I hope you find lots of support and success.
Since you asked for advice, you might change up your diet some. If you eat the same thing every day your body gets very efficient at processing it and you will burn fewer calories. Since you seem to have been at a weight loss plateau for a while it might help to eat some different kinds of food. You'll find tons of information in the forums on here. Best of luck to you0 -
Hey that was a great advice, I like fish a lot, would eat it every day.
I guest I will have to eat chicken too.0 -
Hi....welcome. I agree that maybe you should change things up. The body get's so used to what it is given, that there is just no challenge for anything to change.
I have been on and off here since Jan. if you need support please friend me. I do eat much the same as you, and maybe we can help each other???? :flowerforyou:0 -
Thanks! I just realized it shows I joined April 2011...I made an account and never used it - maybe I shoulda started back then!
I just did my food for the first day and see that I'm -19 for protein for the day and still have close to 400 calories left and I'm not hungry at all (only ate 900ish). I'm pretty sure this maybe my issue...
I guess I need to get busy figuring out new foods.
Thanks again for the welcome!0 -
If you haven't been active, going back to your running/walking will really help. Even if you break it down into smaller segments and do it a couple of times a day. 150 minutes a week of cardio would be great if you can get it in. Is there a stroller to go with that cute baby? Always a good option!! Best of luck to you - being that disciplined and not losing weight is one of the most frustrating things ever.0
