To many Distractions

Ok, so I know I need to exercise. I try to do some sort of Exercise everyday, but I often run into obstacles and distractions. Odd things that just happen to pop up you know part of life kind of crap i.e. my water heater sprung a leak and needs immediate attention. I like to get 2 cardio session a day in. When I first wake up and then before bed after I eat. These kind of situations happen all the time and I am forced just like you to call on will power, drive, determination, and of course discipline. To come back later and get my work outs in. I'm just curious what kind of road blocks you run into and how do you defeat them to get back on track. For all you who fall off the wagon now and then it's ok as long as you get back on soon!

I know how you feel. My distractions are 3 little boys running around, literally. There are some days where I am so exhausted and I just want to curl up on the couch and watch a rerun of Golden Girls or Three's Company or something like that. But, I know that 20 minutes is not a long time. I have found that I am better off doing 20-30 min workouts instead of 1 hour workouts because I don't feel as exhausted and I know that I can get it done and then do all of the "mommy" things that I need to do for the day. You nailed it on the head though.....once you get passed the "distractions", just go do your workout. It is nice to have a routine time when you do them, but hey, life is an obstacle itself and as long as you stay on track with your workouts, it is all good. Hope this helps a little to let you know that you are definately not alone at all.

I found that too. Always too much to do after work and just couldn't fit it in. Then I decided that I could fit some of it in at work. So on my coffee breaks instead of my usual eating I go for a walk. I get 1 mile in per break so no matter what I get 2 miles of walking a day (unless it rains like today and I only got 1 in) then I do not feel guilty if I do not get additional working out in.

I do still try for the gym or a 2+ mile walk every night after work but if it doesn't happen I know I got at least 30 minutes in for the day. I don't have a lunch break but that would be a great time to get an addition 15-20 in depending on how fast you eat.
