Hi, does anyone have any sauce recipes to go over things like chicken and fish?
I want to attempt my own sweet and sour chicken balls but all the store ready sauces have alot of crap added in. Or any other flavours to add over meats?
Preferably looking for ones without sugar etc.
Thanks :)

I do have a sauce that I use for Salmon that is a sweet and sour sauce.

    1 tbsp Vegetable Oil - 124 Calories
1/4 Cup Fat Free, Low Sodium Chicken Broth - 1 Calorie
2 tbsp Fresh Lime Juice - 6 Calories
    2 tbsp Brown Sugar - 68 Calories
1 tbsp Low Sodium Soy Sauce - 10 Calories
    1 tbsp Fish Sauce - 10 Calories
    2 Garlic Cloves, Minced - 8 Calories

Makes about a 1/2 cup of sauce. I use only about 2 tbsp of sauce on my fish. Each Tblsp of sauce is about 30 Calories.

    Hope this helps!

Sounds good plus easy to make with common ingredients except maybe for the fish sauce (which is found in the Asian section of the grocery store). Thanks for the recipe.

I made a yummy szechuan style sweet & sour sauce the other day for my BF:

    1/2 tbsp szechuan peppercorns, crushed
    1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tbsp soy sauce (can use reduced sodium for a helathier version)
    1 tbsp tomato puree/paste/concentrate
1 tbsp honey (whichever you like, I used organic)
    squeeze of lemon/lime juice
A little water if you want to thin it down

I served this with panko coated fish chunks and lots of spring onions/scallions and cauli fried rice.
