Remedy for sore calf muscles? I am hobbling around.

I have been running consistently but yesterday for the first time I did a Jullian Michaels circuit video (40 minutes) and woke up with sore calf muscles. So I went for a 5k run, figuring my muscles would mellow out after a stretch and some exercise. Now they are sooo sore. I am hobbling around. Any advice for making them feel better?

Did you have a good stretch after your run / workout? Runners will often neglect stretching their calves and solei (plural of soleus??) I use a foam roller after every run too.......it has become my best friend.

If they're really sore resort to RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression & Elevation) , ibuprofen (or blueberries) may help with inflammation. Chances are the 5K run exacerbated the problem.

Mild cardio, every day. My legs hurt like H-E-doublehockeysticks doing JM's 90d BR at first, but I toughed it out (and didn't stop), albeit carefully.
