i do well all day eat good and and feel well but it seems after we put the kids to bed i want to snack and i know its the worst thing to do eat at night but no matter what it is that we do i feel hungry in the evening ., my wife said to try sunflower seeds so i am going to try that but i would rather just not have the cravings in the evening at all that's where my biggest down fall is , i normally never post on any sites Facebook, twitter, ext, but i thought that maybe if i wrote it down somewhere it would sink in and i could get past my evening problems , does any one else have this problem ?

Well, I have (so far) lost 35 pounds and I eat the majority of my calories at night. Part of that is because I do 35 minutes on the elliptical after I get home from work (which gives me the extra calories to consume for my final meal and night time healthy snacks) and part of that is by having a protein bar for breakfast, a small meat and vegetable lunch and small snacks until I get home (yogurt, rice cakes, oatmeal, raisins, hot tea, etc.)
This is what has worked for me, even though it is the opposite of what many would suggest is the right way to eat.
I would add that you need to believe in yourself (which was not easy for me because I am not self-confident). I kept telling myself that it's not like I'm trying to learn to play ice hockey (I don't do sports), I'm just trying to figure out how to make my food consumption and exercise net to a number that is appropriate for weight loss, and if I do go over to make it a small overage. I found that work days present a different challenge from weekends or vacation days, so I needed to have more than one strategy to accomplish this.
I also found that I needed to be firm and insistent about what I was doing vis the rest of the culture. Humorously, restaurant staff were more helpful (sometimes) than friends and family. There's a whole culture out there that wants you to eat a lot, and eat with them and share what they're eating. Still, finding what works for you and fighting a cultural mind set is still easier than learning to play ice hockey. (:->)0 -
