I'm an addict, and proud of it
haha probably got most of you , but seriously.. I've had a few people tell me lately that I am addicted to this.. working out, eating healthy... and I have to say, I am damn proud to be this kind of addict!! My journey has not been easy nor will it ever be. it's not a diet, it's a life change. My whole family is OBESE , it's partly in the genes but mostly in the bad habits.. I am tall (5'9) so I've never carried my weight too too bad, the highest I got was 208 when pregnant with my 2nd child, but still ,I am just now feeling great at 148. anything above 155/160 I felt horrible, tired, moody, fat and blah..even depressed at times..
I busted a disc in my lower back and after much efforts of physical therapy, steroid shots and pain pills I gave in and had a spinal fusion surgery 5 months ago and weighed in at 178 pre-op.
I truly believe that if I can be where I am 5 months post major back surgery.. anyone can, including my OBESE family. I don't mean to sound insensitive but one has to WANT IT.. and I wanted it and I made it happen...
So if my family members and friends want to get upset with me because I won't skip my workout for them or because I wont just "go out to eat" with them whenever they want...then I say whatever, call me an addict, get pissed I don't care... I am healthy, happy and feel better then I ever have so.... I am a health addict and proud of it!!

On one hand, I completely agree that it's a good thing. It IS a lifestyle.
On the other hand, I don't ever want to get so 'addicted' that I pass up the chance to enjoy quality time with people I love. Going out to eat doesn't mean eating too much, or eating junk. Skipping a workout isn't going to kill me. Give me a few hours with loved ones and I'll jump at the chance. Workouts can be rescheduled.
But yep - I swapped a food addiction to a health one, and I'm happy about it!0 -

well I see what you are saying but to clarify myself on that, these people know me and know my routine is set, I workout every morning and get up earlier then everyone else to do so , so there is no excuses for me yet these few people still call me, invite me when they know it's "me time".. I don't mind eating out every now and then but I swear that's all my parents do and I try to give them at home meal ideas but well they don't want to hear it..
my dad told me if I lost anymore weight I was going to fly away and my mother told me my face was sinking in.. I haven't even made goal yet.0
