What are your experiences with it? If you've never done it, don't know anyone who has, or aren't a plastic surgeon please withhold your judgments.

Silicone vs. saline?

Recovery time?

Do they look the way you expected?

Does it HURT REALLY REALLY bad or is it like a tender/soreness comparable to DOMS after a killer workout?

When did you get it (age wise and in relation to child-bearing (pre/post))

How much did it cost?

Would you take it back?

I had mine done a number of years ago. Whilst I was very happy with the results, I'm not currently trying to save the money to have them re-done as the ones they used in my surgery have since been found to have industrial silicone and the majority are rupturing without anyone knowing. I did a lot of research, and thought I was going with a reputable company (which, after this situation worlwide it's obvious even the best companies have used these products without knowing).

I am going to have them redone, even having been through this situation, mainly as I would look terrible without them now but a very large part of me wishes I had never had it done.

I would say though, silicone. Recovery is a minimum of 6 weeks for anything physical but normally about 2-3 weeks off work. I cannot really remember the pain, except that I couldn't wash my hair for a while!

It's a very personal decision and please do as much research as possible, and talk to a lot of surgeons before deciding.

I'm 1.5 years post, I stared totally flat.

    Silicone vs. saline?
#Silicone (form stable gummies), I wanted the newest anatomical ones.

    Recovery time?
#For final results 6-12months, back to work recovery time 1-3 weeks depending on your job.

Do they look the way you expected?
#Yes, perhaps a little smaller than I imagined, but I started with nothing, very natural I think.

Does it HURT REALLY REALLY bad or is it like a tender/soreness comparable to DOMS after a killer workout?
#Some tenderness, but mostly if felt like engorgement like when you beast feed, might hurt a little more the bigger you go, I went under the muscle , recovery is supposedly easier with overs, but that has its own group of pros and cons too.

When did you get it (age wise and in relation to child-bearing (pre/post))
#Age 32, 2.5 years after my last child

    How much did it cost?
#Equal to about US$7500, in Sweden. My implant type was more expensive than normal silicon by about $1000 cause its the newest type.

    Would you take it back?
    #Not for a second!

had them done almost ten years ago.. cost 8,000K went to Dr Kim at his beverly hills practice

couldn't be happier. * for anyone who wants to know..... I had great breasts before breastfed my children and was very disappointed with what happened to my once great breasts .. so I just got them back .... :D

under the muscle through the belly button * this assures that you can breastfeed If that's a concern for you*
it was for me as I knew I would have more children and would want to be able to breastfeed them.

    woke up not much pain..

the next three days I had a tube that drains from the belly button and that was gross and really uncomfortable I have NO scars * except on the inside of my belly button.. my stomach where they "tunnel" to the breast area hurt like a VERY hardcore workout .. for about a week straight .. I couldn't sleep for over a week because I couldn't be on my tummy and I dont sleep in any other position .. my breast were hardish for about a month or more.. I used saline implants and had a very VERY reputable DR.

I would recommend it .. I would never take it back.. I am redoing mine and I LOVE them. and so does my husband ;) nipple sensitivity for me was off for a while.. and it does hurt.. is it worth it? oh yes. I was 25 They looked far better then I expected , only downside was they were a lot larger than I intended , but he said he had to do it because I had so much skin.. o.O so if I could change anything the next round I might get a reduction but I am weary because of the scars...

    what to do?

I would like to add one more query, which was addressed by the above poster: what about nipple sensitivity?
I would not be able to afford a breast augmentation anytime soon, since I'm a broke college student, but maybe someday...

There's some pretty good drugs prescribed to deal with pain, I honestly didn't find it bad (but then again I have had 2 kids, one natural, one emergency c section, and recovery form the c section was 100% worse than my BA), you can also look in to PS's that do whats called "24 hour recovery" or "Rapid recovery" Its a style of surgery that is very precise and careful to minimize trauma to the tissue, so pain and discomfort of the surgery are really minimal (so much so that narcotics are usually not needed for pain control), totally worth it, I wouldn't have don't it want other way!

You will need a drip inserted before, but they have numbing creams for that, and you can often get a Valium for your nerves before too!

I had my original surgery at 24, no children. Silicone partially under the muscle, cost was $4400. Recovery time was moderate, I've had worse surgeries but I tend to recover slowly. Each surgeon has different limitations for resuming workouts. I had a very physical job and retune to work at 3 weeks. For a desk job I would have been fine at 1 week. People who are nurses usually are the ones with the most concern for returning to work as they may be responding to codes.

I had a complication which resulted in a second surgery last year. That was also silicone partially under the muscle, butt the cost was $8000. I still would not change my thoughts on having done it. I am very glad that I did. I'm current pregnant with my first and they are doing well. I plan on breast feeding and my surgeon said there is no reason that I should not be able to.

As far as nipple sensation, it's normal to have numbness or hypersensitivity during recovery. Mine are now exactly how they were before. If you'd like educational resources please send me a message, there are plenty of good and bad ones on the Internet.

Thanks for posting this, since this is something I have thought about doing in the future, 3 kids later and the girls just aren't what they use to be.

I am 9 months post surgery. I had saline under muscle restored to my former size (I lost all of them when I lost the weight). I did not consider silicone because of issues my mother had/has with hers (post mastectomy), though I am sure they are much safer now. Pain was minimal after the first day or so, just needed to be sure I did not over do with my arms and followed instructions. Incision very small and now practically invisible. For a while they felt 'attached' now feel normal. They are firmer, nipple sensitivity is fine. They did settle a little uneven, but I believe it was due to the fact I had a portion of one breast removed with a large cycst when in my early 30s. I also experienced a bit of what is called wrinkling. Due to the fact I had lost so much weight I have hardly any fat over the muscle. It is only slightly noticable (I had to point it out to my husband). YES I would do it again, If I ever need replacement I will consider other materials that might feel more natural. I am happy, and still feel like a little girl who just got a new princess dress. I had mine done at age 60, you are never too old to want to feel beautiful and attractive.

Dr. Kim is the doctor that I had a consultation with (probably back in October).
I'm wondering what made you decide to choose saline, and also why you're having them redone?
Just because it's been 10years and they recommend replacing them that often, or have you noticed a difference in the way they feel/appear?

I am just having them redone.. they are perfect and there has been no change , he may remember me as I was one of the first umbilical augmentations he had done and I had ZERO bruising after the surgery and he called several DR's in to check out how great I was healing when we removed the bandages as that's what they say should be done... he Dr Kim is an amazing DR and you will love him and his staff ;) I wonder if they have my before and afters... I chose saline as its the best route to go plus I breastfeed and I cant imagine silicone some how getting absorbed God forbid and somehow into my milk supply,... he will even seat you up .. * during the operation to make sure they are perfect and believe me they are .. ;D

How many CCs did you get? Can I ask what your cupsize used to be and what it is now?
I was contemplating silicone since I have very little breast tissue and don't want rippling, and also I head that silicone feels much more natural. I know that Dr. Kim specifically specializes in transumbillical instertions though. That's so funny that you were one of his firsts!!

Silicone vs. saline? Saline. You have to be 22 to get Silicone.

Recovery time? Not sure. I was very drugged up the first three days. haha Had it done on a Tuesday and by Sunday was feeling decent. Worst pain was in my back.

Do they look the way you expected? They do.

Does it HURT REALLY REALLY bad or is it like a tender/soreness comparable to DOMS after a killer workout?
I don't know what DOMS is? But waking up I had to actually look down to make sure they operated because I felt so normal. I do know a couple people that woke up screaming so I got VERY lucky with a gentle surgeon. The first night was bad because I accidentally pushed up off my bed with my hands and it felt like I ripped my arm pits off. After that it was just a lot of pressure, like a 60lb dog was sitting on my chest. The mornings were sore as well for the first week or two.

When did you get it (age wise and in relation to child-bearing (pre/post)) I got mine this past August at 20 years old. No children.

How much did it cost? Mine cost $6500. Would have been $6000 but they had to decide if I could get a lift done so the longer time added money due to more anesthesia used. Didn't get the lift then but 6 month alter I went ahead and did it and they did it for $1500. I got a $900 discount.

Would you take it back? NEVER. I had a deformity and I feel so much better about myself because of it!

They had just started that whole procedure.. okay as far as before I was a natural 34DD * before I breastfed * then I breastfed and went up to an F ;( .. about 36 F.. and then because I had two babies back to back.. My breast tissue and muscle was destroyed and thats being NICE... I basically had skin "sacs" ... we decided on I think a full DD again and he ended up using 650 cc in one breast and I want to say about 720 in the other .. I am now a very healthy 36DDD or an F depending on the bras.. they are redonkulously big perky but BIG. ... lol

    Silicone vs. saline?
    # Silicone

    Recovery time?
    # I was back to school in 2 weeks. The total results (settling in) 1yr

Do they look the way you expected?
    # Yes, they are beautiful and natural looking

Does it HURT REALLY REALLY bad or is it like a tender/soreness comparable to DOMS after a killer workout?
    # The first 3 days i was taking Tylenol 3's and but after that just the occasional Tylenol extra strength.

When did you get it (age wise and in relation to child-bearing (pre/post))
    # I was 28 years old when I got them and my son was was 10 year old.

    How much did it cost?
    #6500.00

    Would you take it back?
#Noooo Wayyyy! I started out with 34 B but my breast began to drop and lose volume. I bought 300 cc's and it put me in a 34 D cup. I got them placed under the beast muscle and the method was under the breast fold. When i raise my arms you can see the incision because he used surgery sealer so no stitches. love love love them
