Hello everyone.

Anyone know why you weigh heavier after eating a chinese meal. I'm two pounds heavier today and cannot understand it.

Thanks.

Assuming you didn't eat an extra 7000 calories worth of food...probably water retention due to high sodium content in many Chinese food and sauces.

    That's just a guess.

Do you wear rings? The next day after I have eaten Chinese food, I am so swollen my rings will hardly come off or go on (if at all). A sure sign that sodium is retaining water. Chinese food is full of MSG (sodium). Be very careful with it as I have discovered I am allergic to it. BAH! I love Chinese.

Chinese food is extremely high in sodium, for most people who eat too much sodium in a day, will have a gain the next day. Watch what you eat today and drink plenty of water today to help flush it out. It may take a day or two to lose it.
