  • haha I HATE that. I look at the nutritional values of some of the foods I like at my favorite places to eat and it's common that they are over a thousand calories for one meal. Some are even two thousand or more! Nuts. I still go but I divide into halves or even thirds and just take home a doggy bag :)

Oh yes, the joys of finding out the truth. I've started going online for nutritional information before I g out, so I know what I should order. It's a bit depressing when your foodie, but there are still ways of making it work!
  • There is a way of making it work unless the ingredient list contains trans fats :( Has anyone ever looked at culvers ingredients list? They use so much trans fat in most of their foods that it makes KFC and McDonalds look like health food. It saddens me because I use to like eating at culvers. They suck.
  • I know how you feel.... I had a premade salad from Walmart yesterday and after I finished it I figured up the calories... 850!!!!! I was flabergasted!! It appeared to be a very healthy salad with lots of veggies and not an abundance of dressing.... I won't be getting one of those again!!

make you own frozen coffee drinks sometime! You can really control the calories at home.
I started doing that. Just double the coffee grounds you use to make some coffee, let it cool, throw it in a blender with ice, milk, and some sugar and whatever flavor syrup you want.
Theres recipes on RecipeZaar and AllRecipes, but its just as easy to wing it!

And if youre a flavored soy milk drinker I bet thats even better for flavored frozen coffee!

also any place that prides in a "butter burger" is gonna be bad.

and I learned not to let the "healthy" portion of a fast food menu trick you. The healthy stuff at McDs is worse than some of the dollar menu items!

I think the salads at most restaurants are awful with respect to calories. They have tons of cheese, croutons and I think the dressing is fat fortified with additional fat. They are also normally pretty huge.

The biggest surprise I got was over a year ago when I had the Texas Toast at Ruby Tuesdays (I don't think they even have it anymore) and,if I remember correctly it was over 300 calories for just one piece.

I had a grilled chicken caeser salad w/low cal dressing from micky d's the other day...and sure, only 260 calories for the salad and dressing, but over 1800mg of sodium.

Fast food is the devil

No more of those for me!
  • Yeah, Starbucks get me every time.
