Hi everyone! I know there's a ton of posts about the 30 day shred already, but I had a more specific question.
I'm 5'9" and about 154lbs. I'm in decent shape but could definitely stand to tone up, and lose a few lbs. I have seen great results on MFP from people with much more to lose than me, but I was just wondering if anyone who's in about the same position as me (eg someone who works out 3-4-5 times a week and only has about 10lbs to lose) could tell me about their 30ds results. Did you see a weight loss and/or inches lost during the 30 days?

You may not lose much but you will probably tone (unless you're already well toned) especially in the midsection (less so in hips/thighs). When I started 30 day shred I did it because I wanted to drop about 7 lbs or so; I'm at a good weight but perpetually have that 5-10 pounds I'm looking to take off. I was initially disappointed at the lack of weight loss by about the middle of level 2 so I took my measurements at that point, and I'm very happy that I did. Overall,I had great results inches wise in my entire midsection--high waist, belly (at belly button) and lower belly (pooch). My muffin top is gone. All totaled I lost 3 lbs--2 right away, which I then gained back during level 2, then 3 down by the end of level 3. So no big weight loss after a full 30 days but great firming/toning/inches loss. At the time I was doing the shred, I was eating 1200 cal/day and eating back half my exercise cals. I've since bumped my cals up to 1600 and have maintained, continue to work out daily.
  • I'm glad to hear that, I was worried that I wouldn't see much toning, but hopefully I'll have similar results to you!

I think you will...good luck! Be really careful of your knees (if your glutes/hamstrings are already strong that's great)...my knees were feeling a little iffy during level 1 but by the end I was fine. Be careful with your form. Have fun!

I have just ordered 30DS and can't wait to try it out! Hoping to see some inch loss and if I lose weight that'll be an added bonus!

Im halfway through 30 Day shred. I'm 5'3 and was 120 when I started it. So far, I have lost 3 pounds. I usually go to the gym 5 days a week for cardio and light strength training. I definitely see results since starting the 30 day shred. Although I have only lost 3 pounds, I can feel a huge difference in the way my clothes are fitting. My abs toned up a lot and so have my arms. I really saw the results once I started level 2 (on day 11). Currently on day 15.

I'm on day one of level 2, after doing level 1 for an entire week straight, along with a 1200 calorie diet. I've lost a total of eight inches, and two pounds. I've toned up a lot so far, and at this point I don't even mind not getting a whole lot of weight loss as long as the inches continue to come off, and my body continues to tighten. I am 5'4" and currently weigh 142 pounds. I would love to weigh 130 again, or 125, but I am fitting in my clothes a lot better and my muffin top is pretty much gone. I guess I need to do my own work out for my thighs, because I have not noticed any difference, inch or tone wise on my inner/outer thighs as another poster mentioned. I love it though! Anything that got me results that quickly is an A+ in my book, and I have Ripped in 30 as well to start once I finish 30DS.

I'll definitely keep that in mind, as I really want to tone up my thighs...guess that's what some cardio is good for!
