Good for you !! one of the main reason I started this journey was for some of the same reasons as you, I have 3 young kids, who deserve a mom that wants to play with them instead of telling them to go play by themselves because i was to tired, It was the day my 4 year old told me. " Your always tired" . that i decided to get off the couch , and get moving,

My dad and granddad both had heart disease and diabetes due to weight issues, and I refuse to follow in those footsteps.

Congrats on your decision ! Best of luck to you

Thanks and I wish you all the luck too. I have noticed how much more energy I have and that I can do so much more without getting winded . It is the best feeling in the world. My family is so important to me and I want to be with them as long as I can. I love being able to play with them to hear them laugh and see the smiles. It is all the motivation that I need. Enjoy your children they are all such a wonderful gift aren't they. :)

Hey there!! I'm also a grandmother and I just want this to be the last diet I ever go on - its the first one that I haven't cheated on so I am really pleased with myself for that. I'm losing a steady 2lbs a week and have no end weight in mind just yet - got too much to lose to think about it, it would depress me to see how far I have to go!!

One day at a time is my answer, and demanding constant praise from my partner as well... he is on the plump side and is a type 2 diabetic which scares the hell out of me - I don't wanna go there, ever. I just have to get fit and be around for a long time for my babies and their babies....

Best of luck on here, its full of lovely people all trying to do the same as you and me!!

I am a 61 year old grandma, who is raising a special needs grandson, aged 10. I have two other wonderful grandkids ( the littlest also has needs). I have heart disease, and have had a heart attack two years ago and have a stent. I am about 40 pounds overweight. It is SO MUCH HARDER to lose since i passed 55 years. I try to eat right and exercise, walking, as much as i can. I am glad i am not the only lady with an older body here. When my body was younger, i could lose weight really easily, just take 2 or 3 days a week and just drink milk and eat veggies only, and it would just drop off. I have a lot of life to live yet, and this Heart Disease thing is really scarey!

HI, Your post caught my eye, since I too have 12 grandchildren. I had two of them over yesterday to help mow the lawn. They earn some money and I get to see them. My biggest problem is that I cannot get on the floor with them anymore. My seven year old wants me to play 'jacks' with her. I am so big and out of shape I can barely get to the floor, never mind get up. I loved to play 'jacks' when I was a girl and I will play again.

Also, I lost a sister when she was 40 from a pulmonary embolism. She let a very sedentary life style and was nearly 300 pounds when she passed on. That scares me.
