i am starting a new life change...i am 5'2 and weigh 153 and wanna loose about 25-30 pounds and tone ALOT...any ideas on diets or special exercise dvds that would help alot?

    30 day shred is great! Well.. any Jillian Michaels DVDs are going to be great for you.. just look at the reviews on amazon.com. As far as diets go- I would stick with making sure your calories are split out at least 40% protein and 30% fat 30% carbs.

  • i actually purchased the 30 day shed and man after one workout i am sooo sore i can barely move....so needless to say i havent done it in 3 days and am still sore

    General rule of thumb is:

    - calculate your BMR
    - calculate daily calorie needs based on BMR
    - depending on your goals, eat 10-20% below your daily calorie needs
    - add exercise: both cardio and strength training (no you will not end up crazy muscular, just toned)
    - be patient, be positive, be persistent

  • We are in the same boat except I need to lose a little more.

    While easier conceived than acheived...........I think a workout plan where you do as many reps as possible MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE is the way to go.

    I realize my body will go the way of my core....if I can get my core lean and mean and performing well doing a lot of reps, everything else will fall in line.

    So pushups and squats are pretty much mandatory for me from here on out, with some crunches, rows, mountain climbers, dips and pullups thrown in for good measure.
