C25K - I'm confused!

Options
I would like to start eh C25K program, but when I google it, I see different plans on different websites. Does it matter which one I choose, or is there one specific web-site I should be looking at?

I'm pretty sure this was the original:

Any program that gradually works you up to running a 5k is ok, though. I'd just pick one and... wait for it...

    run with it

    Lol. Win!

But yes, they all have the same basic principle.

They are all very similar. Coolrunnings is very good and the UK, the NHS has one. Use whichever looks good and enjoy it!

If you have a device that can download apps, I would recommend downloading the c25k app. This is the one that I use, and it's perfect. (they also have one for 10k too!)

By using an app, you don't have to keep track of the time, as the app will tell you when to run/walk at the appropriate times, as well as telling you when you're halfway done so you can turn around, if you're outside.

    Good luck!

there are several variations on this, but this is the one most widely used & accepted...

    hope that helps :)

Also, there are lots of podcasts and aps out there which help with timing, so that may be some of what you're stumbling upon as well. I imagine they are all using Cool Running's c25k program as the basis of the podcast/ap

If you have a smart phone, I would search the app store. There are plenty of free ones that you can download.

I think they are all pretty much the same - I have been doing the one at http://www.c25k.com/ - I have an app on my iphone and love it!

I'm with Eric. The Cool Running one is the original and most popular. It works really well. I got back into running using it a few years ago and thought it did a good job of easing you into running for 30 minutes. I actually listed to these podcasts on my ipod as I did it. There's audio cues for when to walk and run, with not-too-terrible music in the background http://www.podfeed.net/podcast/Podcasts+for+Runners/8216

I have used the podcast of NHS from itunes for C25K. I am not much of runner, but I am someday. Itunes has a lot of apps and podcasts for C25K.
