My biggest fears put to rest....

I love pancakes, waffles, french toast...all the goodies at IHOP or any breakfast place. But they are not on my eating plan. OMG...Went to IHOP today and was so nervous....but when I got there I was SO HAPPY...they have light menu options...yes even pancakes and french toast!! I stayed away from those goodies today because I had french toast (light version of my own) this weekend. I had a spinach, mushroom, tomato, swiss cheese omelet made with egg beaters and a cup of fruit for only 330 calories. I was SOO HAPPY. They also have a egg beater, turkey bacon with 2 multi grain pancake option for only 480 calories, but I was nervous about ordering that cause they had 5 different flavors of syrup and I know that is what would do me in calorie wise. I love my pancakes smothered in syrup...so once I reach my first weight goal, I may make an exception and go all out on my syrup! I have to say the omelet was very good.....I was so impressed. Thank you IHOP....now I know I can come have a pancake meal and not feel horrible. Wish they would add some reduced calorie syrup to their choices...then I'd be in complete eurphoria, ha ha. I am so happy restaurants are coming up with calorie reduced options for us who are truly not interested in eating 2 days worth of total calories in one meal. What I saw some people eat while I was there...and then observing their waist lines....well, it reminded me for the reasons I am on this health seeking journey and motivated me to keep going!

I know exactly what you mean! I only prefer to go to places that have the "light" options, Applebees, Denny's, etc. It makes it so much easier to make food choices. And yes, seeing people order the way I used to, reminds me why I've lost so much weight and that I am finally on the right path.0

My sister and I took my Mom to the CHEESECAKE FACTORY for her 70th birthday. I was again a little nervous because well.....cheesecake....enough said. I decided to have a slice of cheesecake on her big day, but was not going to add to that catastrophe of calories by eating a calorie laden lunch. I was SO happy they also have a light menu. I had chicken lettuce tacos and they were absolutely scrumptious. I won't always indulge in the cheesecake unless I can share it with someone, but I have to say it gave me renewed reasons why it is one of my favorite restaurants. They have so many options anyway, but now they also have low calorie options in the food area. You can even just order a goblet of fresh strawberries for dessert if you don't want to be a party pooper and it's only 110 calories...versus a slice of cheesecake at over 1000 calories.
I have shyed away from eating out the last couple years because it has been so hard to order....but thankfully restaurants have come on board making eating out much more fun again.0
