New to Group and looking for support

I am 59 years old, married and am now retired. I spent the first 25 yrs doing office work. The last 10 years I have owned my own doggy daycare and agility training facility. When I was young, like many I'm sure, I could eat anything and everything I wanted and still not put on any weight. Things changed in my mid 30's when I quite smoking. At one point I had put on 50 lbs. I was able to lose 40 lbs on a weight lose program that supplies all the food for you. Very expensive though. Now I am looking at losing at least 15 lbs and get into better shape. I no longer have my doggy daycare and have moved to a very small communitee. I have 4 dogs who I train in agility, obed, hunt, tracking. The problem is I find is it is getting very difficult to get motivated to even do this when you are at home by yourself most days. I try to take one or more of the dogs for a walk at least twice a week. Our walks are usually a minimum of 1 hour and we go up and down hills in fields. I work with my dogs with a few other people once or twice a week. I am having a very difficult time eating correctly and getting motivated to do so. I have high cholesterol and really need to improve my eating habits and get out and exercise more. Unfortunately, I don't have much of a support system to help me with losing weight.

Feel free to add me as a friend. I'm 50 and gained a LOT of weight after a car wreck laid me up for 14 months. We can get where we want to be if we really want to do so.
  • I am also new to mfp. I lost 2 lbs in the last week. So far I am enjoying this journey. Please friend me as I have no friends yet and would love to share my ups and downs with others.
