I just watched the video, first time I've heard/seen anything about the whole "sugar is a poison" debate. I've never studied biochemistry but I think I fully understood the message. I work in a grocery store here in Washington state and I would agree that its already overweight kids that buy gatorade when they play a pickup game of basketball. The customers that are runners ("streakers" they call themselves) buy pretty much milk, coffee, fruits/veggies and bottled water. I also have noticed that the lower-income people who use WIC tend to be overweight and so are their kids. BUT, when I see the other foods they buy, I figured it was a lifestyle factor because they use their foodstamp card to buy junk foods during the same trip. I never looked at infant formula before and if it does have that much sugar in it, that has got to be changed. I already knew that most all apple juice is loaded with sugar and thought even before I watched this video that it should be dropped from the WIC program.
    My two cents

I just watched this too and a lot of great information. Especially important for everyone trying to be so strict with counting calories that they don't even factor in the type of foods they eat.

Yup, it's a classic, I actually started my nutritional journey with the shorter version here:

The whole "Underground Wellness" channel is well worth a watch, especially the stuff on grains.

I accidentally stumbled on it and have since read a pile of books and studies on how we metabolise our food/drink.

This series is also good (and current):

John Yudkin's Pure White And Deadly book is a classic on the subject but pretty hard to find.

Thanks for the info. I've personally cut grains from my diet mostly, not overly missing them, especially how hungry they make you feel *after* you've eaten them lol

yeah, famous, but you should look around at the various critiques of his work. Here is one:

    http://www.alanaragonblog.com/2010/01/29/the-bitter-truth-about-fructose-alarmism/

Fact is, he has some good points but as per usual the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.
