Losing Muscle on A Low Carb Diet?

Hey Everybody!!
I recently started going on a low-carb diet. Not a very intense one, as I eat about 70-80g of carbohydrates per day (Half of what I ate before). I started about three days ago, and in those three day have lost about three or four pounds. This seems like a lot of weight to lose in such a short amount of time. Do you think the weight was muscle or fat?

Hi I am doing low carb as well. If I remember right most low carb diets help you lose weight first through water weight and then fat. I think maybe some muscle is lot as well but I am not sure about that. I have over 20 diet books which I could look up the info but they would probably give me conflicting info lol. Anyway good luck0

Neither, it was water weight. Maybe a half a pound was fat, but when you eat lower in carbs, your glycogen stores in the muscles deplete, which contributes to the quick loss.0
