Grandma Pizza -generic

Why is a slice of generic grandma pizza so much higher in calories than a regular slice? On a grandma pizza, the crust is thinner, and there's not as much cheese as on a regular slice.

Wondering the same thing?0 -
Maybe it is all the extra love that grandmas put in their pizza.0

I've found love to be high in calories, myself.0

I wonder if it's peculiar to NY and CT? It's a thin-crust pizza with some mozzarella; the (somewhat garlicky) tomato sauce is spread on top. The only thing I can think of is that more oil seems to seep onto the box than on a regular cheese pizza.0

Oh. Don't eat the box.0

Where I come from, the crust is thicker. It's closer to Sicilian style. Actually I never could tell the diff between a grandma pie and a Sicilian.

Interestingly, he says "thin layer of dough", but every time I've had it was a a pretty thick rigid slice. Perhaps it's the addition olive oil that makes the calories higher.0 -

Please don't burn love calories with your grandma.0 -

eww people make their grandmas into pizzas?0

I think there is a lot of Olive Oil on it. That might bring up the calories a bunch. Grandma in a pizza...too funny!
Grandma wouldn't like being made into pizza i'm sure.0 -

yes. You have to be quick around here.
You can deduct the fiber from your Carbohydrate total. Every little bit helps.
SRSLY, members input the data. Did you look at Grandma's website for nutrition? Sometimes (oh!) people here input the wrong numbers. You can adjust the nutrition to suit you...if necessary.

Lmao! My grandma would have been full of calories and sugar ;-)0 -
its not.0

My grandmas are dead, so they wouldn't make good pizza.
To the OP - if those numbers don't sound right to you, have a look at another common brand like dominos for example and compare the numbers to something similar. A lot of the time you have to estimate calories if you don't do the cooking, but I find that is usually balances out OK. I've never heard of Grandma pizza so I can't even take a guess.0 -
I love grandmas pizza with basil and sausage. Omg.
There is a place in north Carolina of all places that makes the best one I have ever tasted. Cinellis
I would consider moving back there just for the pizza.0 -
