So i have chronic anxiety and PTSD, which only gets worst with stress and in turn leads to emotional eating. I'm fighting this as much as possible. But on another note, i'm hoping that the more i work out and change my lifestyle that i can over come or learn to deal with my anxiety better. How has this worked for some of you? Is your mood better? How long did it take for you to get to that point? I hope to be off my meds all together at some point (keeping an as needed med for "meltdowns") but i hate taking meds every day. Any success stories around here? I'm looking for hope at the end of the tunnel.

I have diagnosed anxiety and OCD. I hated, HATED being on antidepressants. I stopped taking them about a year and a half ago. I did not realize how much working out regularly helps even out my mood until I "fell off the wagon" here a few weeks ago. The difference was almost immediate...and bad! It helps me immensely, but it's very subtle. Stress relief, endorphins and weight control. It can't hurt, really. If you struggle with anxiety I suggest you look into Inositol powder. I've found it to be as or more effective than prescription meds. Best of luck to you!
