NSV- C25K empowerment!

About 4 weeks ago I decided to start C25K. I've been switching C25K and 30DS every day. I've always had a hard time running. I contribute this to the fact that I inhaled second hand smoke the first 17 years of my life. I was always the kid holding up the rear when we ran a mile in school. The first day I did C25K I had to stop and take a breather and it was terribly challenging for me. Today is my 30DS day but I decided to get some running in so I went back to W1D1. I felt so empowered after the run! There were no breaks during the run and I ran at a better pace than I've ever ran. I'm so happy that I started C25K because I can see how far I've come already!
Scale Victory-I've lost 6 lbs in 2 weeks. I hope I can keep it up! I know the first few were just water weight. Gotta stay motivated!

Hey, I am glad you're having such a good time with C25K, I am on week 2, just done run 2 today and I can't believe how much I have improved in just over a week, Week 1 Run 1 I was having to stop short of 60 secs too. It's always good to see that someone in the weeks ahead is still enjoying it.
I'm gonna start 30DS tomorrow, wanted to check my body was OK before putting extra stress on it (was a bit of a couch potato).
Congratulations with the weight loss and Good Luck with the rest of your journey. Keep Us Posted :)

Cool! Once you do the 5k you'll be hooked. Running's like a drug - I swear.

That was a good idea, to go back and do week 1 day 1. I'm repeating week 5 right now, and started 30 DS again last week. I might have to try what you're doing. Congrats on the NSV!

So you did the whole thing without walking?

I did c25k 1-2 today. I don't think I will ever be able to run 3 minutes straight, never mind an entire 3k (though I can go on the elliptical for 5 miles, wtf?). I am a 25 year smoker, too. It's HARD!

    Good for you!

I completed C25K a few weeks ago. I never thought I would ever be addicted to running, but I am. I ran my first 5K April 28th and have signed up for another. In addition and I now using the "Bridge to 10K" app and have been running not less that 5 miles every other day and working on increasing my 5K speed on my off days with a rest day in between it all.

I so agree running is such a drug and a good one!! I now have to force myself to do strength training which is also very important.

    Good Luck

Oh no, no, I definitely walked on those intervals, I just didn't have to stop doing it all together just so I could catch my breath. Be faithful to it and you will definitely see improvements!

    Yay! You're awesome!

I was going through the app and decided that I would most certainly die, come week 4.
