Why are pear-shapes so under-appreciated?

This applies mostly to American culture, but guys, why do pear-shaped women get hated on so much here?

I was born in Brazil and there, small breasts, wide hips, and an large butt are considered sexy, but moving to the U.S., I've grown up in a culture where having an *kitten* means you're fat and having a cup size below a D means you're hardly worthy of a second glance :grumble: What's the deal?

Non-American men, what natural body shape does your culture tend to find attractive?

    What's with the 'pear shape' threads today lol?

    For me, depending on what the 'pear shape' overall actually looks like...I'm plenty ok with it. There was a 'pear shape' post earlier made by a young lady in a green dress...who was absolutely beautiful.

    I do admit that my typical preference is more 'balanced'...and I don't just mean 'bigger breasts'. But I do find 'pear shapes' attractive as well.

    Again I ask though...is it some kind of 'pear shape' full moon?

    I wonder if you get this impression from the media. I run a tech meetup group (I am around a lot of guys all the time) and everyone has a preference. It's rare that all the guys are drooling over the same girl when we go out.

    Maybe. But I definitely get treated differently by guys in Brazil than guys here...not to say there aren't exceptions. There are always exceptions, but I'm referring to the majority. It's hard to find a guy in America that prefers a pear shaped woman...

    I WISH I was a pear shape. SHEEESH. all my fat goes straight to my belly. A big butt is sexy, a big belly is not.

    Consider yourself LUCKY. only a select few women are actually hourglass (with big boobs, small waist, good hips)

    Oh and I don't think all men are like that. Most guys don't like big boobs or really fake ones. My boyfriend likes my butt and prefers boobs that aren't too big (my Cs are apparently perfect for him.).
