Mung Beans

Hello
Just a quick question:
I bought dried "whole food" mung beans. I thought I would try them as i have never had them before.
So I soaked them overnight (with clingfilm over) and then yesterday I added them to a stirfry. Then I spent the next 3 hours or so with bad stomach cramps. I felt sick (and was once) and the loo was my friend for the afternoon.
Is there anything allergic in mung beans? I have looked online and cant see anything.
Thanks

Did you boil them in water before you added them to your stirfry? They do need to be boiled for at least 30 minutes first.
(This is after you have soaked them overnight)0 -
oh, this may be the problem then as I did not, i just put them in the stirfry to cook!

No problem - do try them again, because they are good for you and taste yummy. Here is a guide to cooking pulses
