Hi, I have 170+lb to lose, has anyone had a huge loss, and could show some pics, and share some successful tips for motivation.

Thanks in advance, and well done.

Hi SamandLucy! I just wanted to say that you are starting a wonderful journey and I wish you all the luck in the WORLD.

I've lost 70 pounds and transformed my lifestyle in the past few years. I won't lie, it hasn't been easy, but well worth it!
The best I thing I found, was to not think of weight loss in terms of diet or numbers, but in terms of how amazing it made me feel and how much energy it provided me. Diets just don't work, because the entire idea of a diet is that it's short term. Weight loss is about changing your whole life and just getting healthy.

What I remember struggling with the most, was making excuses for myself. I'd have a short work out, feel very proud of myself, then let myself binge because, well, I had burned off the calories I would eat, right?
Then, I went through a phase of crash diets which made me lose tons of water weight, but it never stayed off and always left me feeling weak and unable to perform normal daily activities.

If you really want to do this right, you need to commit to it and stick to it! (beachbody quote!)
You can do SO much MORE than what your mind tells you sometimes, just let your body show you that. I remember a time where I would choose to miss my bus frequently because I thought I couldn't make the 3 minute run, and now I'm able to run a 5K.

I am not home at the moment so I can't share my pictures, but I will come back and post as soon as I get home tonight.

Good luck, and don't give up!! You can do this

p.s. a final important thing is to explore why you gained the weight in the first place. (Comfort? Loneliness? What/who made you turn to food? health problem?) Uncover those demons and squash them! :)

I started with 150 to lose, I'm at 121 now so it is possible to lose a large amount of weight. It does take patience and you won't get there over night. Slow and steady wins the race.

I also have a lot to lose....I started my journey on Jan 14th of this year....and it all started with a local weight loss contest from a local gym and radio station, called QMIX Biggest Loser....We were allowed to use the gym as much as we liked and had access to the personal trainers....The contest ended on March 14th...I didnt win the contest but lost 32 lbs in that time...I have continued working out at that gym and the personal trainers I have come to love....I weighed in yesterday on my own and hit my 50 lbs lost and went under 300 lbs...I started out at 348...so it is a rough and painful journey but it is for the best....I am so glad that I have changed my life for the better and wish you the best of luck in your weight loss journey...:flowerforyou:

I weighed about 465-470 in May 2008. In December 2009, I weighed 440. I weigh 328 today. I have pics on my profile page. Feel free to check them out. The main pic is about 7 weeks ago. I was 10 pounds heavier then (and drunk. It was taken in Vegas).
