Numb foot while running?

Last night, I completed W7D1 of C25K which involved 25 minutes of running. My left foot, for maybe the last 5 minutes or so, was somewhat numb. I've only had this happen one other time (I think also the left foot, but not positive) on the treadmill. Once I stopped running it was fine. What causes this? Poor form perhaps? Any ways to avoid this?

This happens to me but only when on the elliptical. I believe it's a circulation issue. Not sure what to do about it. Mine goes away immediately once I step off of the elliptical.0

Maybe try an alternative lacing method on your shoes. Google should produce many sites with pictures and descriptions of what each lacing method is supposed to accomplish.0

normally this is an issue with the shoes being laced to tight or just down right too small.0

Interesting. My shoes are definitely not too small, and I don't think I laced them tight at all. But I'll make sure next time! I'll check out the alternate lacing too.0

I have poor circulation, this happens to me EVERYTIME I get on the elliptical!0 -
In addition to lacing method, look at your shoes and socks. Are they designed for what you are trying to do?
For years, my instinct was to get "athletic socks" (cheap cotton tube socks) and sneakers. The sneakers work OK, but the socks don't wick moisture worth a darn, and cotton either requires that my shoes be very tight to reduce rubbing (causing numbness on extended workouts) or very loose to reduce numbness (causing rubbing). I wear wool socks 100% of the time now (synthetic "cycling socks" when I'm cycling in hot weather) and my feet are so much happier.0 -
I find that my feet swell a little when I'm walking, running, or doing the elliptical so I have to lace my shoes looser than I normally do. I also had the problem of my foot going numb while on the treadmill or stationary bike but re-lacing solved the problem. Good luck!0

I have this problem only on the eliptical...I have tried relacing shoes, but no help. It must have to do with circulation or something. Good question.0
