im 5 9 , 78 kg male
i put in my info and it says i should only eat 1200 a day , i know i can do this but i never seam to loose weight
been putting on weight latley cause of uni work
but would this number seam about right the 1200
when i do go to the gym , i do weights and about 30 mins cardio about 4 - 5 days a week

If your logging your foods and exercise it should log those calories burned back into the calories your allowed....giveing you more calories each day. I say if you go to the gym you need to consume more as you are burning more.....:) good luck0

No, seems too low to me. Especially for a guy of your height and weight.
I calculate your BMR as approx. 1850 (using Harris Benedict and guessing at your age from your photo as mid 20's).
This would put your sedentary TDEE at somewhere around 2200 cals per day.
For nice steady weight loss, knock about 20% off TDEE. That comes to about 1700 a day.
Put simply, eat about 1700 cals per day, and eat at least half of your exercise cals back. You should be good from there. Hope that helps.0 -

On My Perfect Weight book this is the guideline it says: Weight for man 130-1,800 calories, 140-2,000 calories, 150wt.-2,100 calories, 160wt.-2,200 calories, 170-2,400 calories, 180-2,500 calories, 190 2,700 cal, 200-2,800 calories.
So if your goal is to be at the weigh 190 you should consume 2,700 calories to get there.
This is just another example.

double checked my weight input and was ok
says if i want to maintain it will be 2,100 Calories a day
and the photo is about 2 years old i think , but i am 38 years old, could that be the reason , cause older people need less0 -
38 is hardly "older". I think you may have input too high a loss per week amount. Stick with only a pound to a pound and shalt per week. 1200 calories is no where near enough for you.0

That sounds more reasonable, if not still a little low. For comparison, I'm 36, a bit smaller than you - 5'7", and about 157 lbs, and I need 2300 to maintain. Only off by 200 so at least it's in the ballpark.
I would take no more than a 500 cal/day deficit, so that would put you at 1600 + exercise calories.0 -

Go back to your settings. Do NOT put your goal as losing 2lbs/week. That is far too much. Change it to 1lb/week or less. Log your exercise and eat the calories earned from them.

The 2nd two links seem sound, but finding body fat percentage with a tape measure is extremely inaccurate.0 -
