Today, I'm WAY over limits, and I DON'T CARE

Today, I've blown the diet sheet out of the water. Frankly, I've not bothered one iota what i've eaten today, neither have I cared what I drank.

Because today, I've spent my day at the funeral of my "best friend"'s mother. (yes I know that's a bit of a childish label to hang on it, but read it as "nearest I've got to a brother!").

I've done what a friend would do, put all else aside, and pitched in. And at the end of all the "family duties", I took my mate down to the pub, and had a couple of beers with him, until he "unwound"...

I'm pished. I'm 2000kcals over today probably (couldn't even count all the "cold ham tea" calories - and didn't really try), and, frankly, I DON'T CARE in the slightest.

Weight (and losing it) is important, true - but NOTHING is as important as your friends and family!

I wouldn't worry about it or beat yourself up over it. As they say **** happens and tomorrow is another day. I wish you and your mate a long life and sincerest condolences.

I wouldn't feel bad in the slightest...good on you for being there for your friend. That's what mattered most. You'll reach your goal still..and your friend will always remember how you were there for him. :)

You did what friends and "brothers" do for each other. There is no shame in that! My prayers go out to you and your friend in his time of loss. :flowerforyou:

Someone said **** happens, but it is really just "life" which gets in the way of our plans from time to time. You did what most people would or should have done! As for that four letter "D" word, I don't even use it- mine is a lifestyle change and I blew my caloric intake big time tonight when my hubs took me out to a dinner at a buffet.I had a couple of wines too, intended to have another one when we came home but I am feeling too full and uncomfortable now so will keep it for another day. Tomorrow is a new day and I will be back on track and out early for my big walk. I am sure you will be back on track too, and feeling good that you did the right thing by your best friend-Good for you! and best wishes to you both!

Of all the deficit you've accumulated, one day is like pissing in the ocean. You can rightfully take a day off in situations like this.

You did the right thing :flowerforyou:

Surely you couldn't just sit there and say, "Sorry mate. I can't drink with you as I'm calorie counting" on such a sad day
