I'm pug-less but I'm a dog trainer... will that help you out?! haha. =)

first off- have you ever had a dog before?
    -is it a puppy?
    - does it have a name yet?
    -shots?
    - what do you know about dogs?

pugs in general are very smart funny little animals that are also stubborn to a fault IF you don't train them early & with a stern hand. they are also prone to snoring, farting, having skin problems, & nose-canal issues because of their smooshed faces.

i only know one pug, and she lives next door. i have dog-sat for her for about 3 years for a week or so at a time.

as a pup she wasn't raised right. this made her really neurotic. when my next door neighbor rescued her, she was afraid of everything. it took 2 or 3 days before i could get her to voluntarily move, and she wouldn't eat. but i was firm and pretty soon she warmed up. she was an "only dog"

NOW, Moe has 4 other dogs in the same house. She's the boss. She doesn't take sh** from anyone.

I have a pug! His name is Wally and he is turning 11. What did you need to know? I can tell you they are smart and can be stubborn!

As for food, all my dogs are seniors. I feed them once in the morning and once in the evening. They have water throughout the day. . I know they have suggestions on the back of puppy food, the dry food. Your vet can give suggestions as well. How old is the pug?

We have 2. The best advice I can give you is buy a good vaccuum cleaner. They shed like no other. Ditto on the fart, skin, snort stuff. Make sure it is exercised too. Chicken soup dog food is great for anti fart and skin problems.

Yes, they snore and they will eat until all of the food is gone so you have to watch the servings. They don't tolerate heat or cold well so no long walks. You might have to carry them on the way home, if you do. :) Another good link: http://animal.discovery.com/search/results.html?query=pugs&search=+
  • Just came across this post. I have two pugs. Another good site to go to for pug info is PugSpot.com. A lot of great people on there can answer any of your questions.

I noticed you asked about food. I feed my pugs blue buffalo sweet potato and fish. They each get a half a cup twice a day. They also get green beans, carrots, peas or any other veggies that I have on hand. No corn though... They do love food so if you let them they will eat all day!

i used to have a puggle (half pug, half beagle) as for pug qualities- he was VERY stubborn and snored and had those pug eyes.
