I am running the Detroit marathon Oct 21 and am wanting to do some strength training along with my running schedule. Any suggestions for a program to follow??

I lift 1x a week with a trainer to failure. It has kept me from having any significant injuries during training. I most often lift the afternoon after my long run.0

I'm also training for two marathons, but continue to do strength training twice a week. The only thing I'm avoiding is squats, because they kill my legs, so much so, that I would have to take a day off and rest.0

When I deal with clients who do this, I prefer to train the more doing plyometric strength training.
