Just for fun... I found this website caloriesperhour.com I don't know how accurate it is but I have a very physical job and I was curious. Try it out, does it seem accurate to you?

Mine: dog grooming 8 hour day- 1461 calories

It seems pretty accurate. For my weight it says I burn 80 cals an hour sitting & watching tv. So an extra 100 cals an hour doing nursing stuff sounds about right. I don't count work though as consider it built in based on my activity level I told MFP.
  • I'm not sure, when i worked for Safeway Distribution Center, we worked in a ~28 degree warehouse for 8+ hours. repetitive heavy lifting, and it was definitely a physically demanding and fast pace job. Now that i think of it, i really wish i knew how many calories i burnt during work.

I'm surprised if I go much above my BMR at work. I type very fast (easily upwards of 65wpm, but I've never checked), but typing is the ONLY movement I do besides occasionally changing my position on my chair.
