i know this may sound crazy, but i've had 2 kids and am a good candidate for a tummy tuck, i went for this consultation about 2 years ago (havent had the surgery yet) but he was telling me that some women also get "small" tummy tucks if they have extra fat on their tummys that exercise and diet just wont take away...have u cut back on ur sugar a lot? i know carbs and sugars have a lot to do with your mid section,so before considering surgery take a better look at ur diet..NO SODA!!! hehe0

Tried lowercasing the IMG so it can appear.
About your concern, unfortunately we cannot spot reduce fat & the only way to get rid of stubborn fat is to lower your overall body fat percentage. One of the reason I think it is purely genetics as there are some people who store most of their fat at their bellies. Another one is on the diet, what & how much we eat plays a big factor on our physique. However since you're already underweight so you don't need to eat in a deficit. Instead just concentrate on building muscle to burn fat & to change your physique.0 -
Build some muscles! There is nothing "under" these fat. To be slim should not be the goal. Especially by having such a slim waist. Now it´s time to build or "sculpture" your body a bit.0

Either lose more fat or increase muscle and so increase the shape to the belly giving the appearance of less fat. You've got a very good belly there to be fair, 99.9% of the female population would be happy with yours.0

I'm in a similar situation.
But is it not the case that we need to get rid of all the fat before building muscle otherwise it will be hidden underneath?0 -
Yes and no.
It´s a little hard to gain muscles and loosing fat at the same time. But if you are doing exercises you become some more muscles than you had before....thats the good part!
Surely they are underneath the fat....thats the bad part
But!!!!!.....if you just loose fat without gaining muscles you get a skinny but not a fit body. And if you had a bit more overweight under the skin, where should the skin go???? So you have to try to "fill in" the place with some tiny muscles.
Also, the muscles underneath the fat burn even more fat than the fat former does0 -
Well what I've been doing is 2 miles a day for cardio and light muscle workouts, so that I burn fat mostly. After I burn enough fat, I'm gonna rank up the muscle building and add more protein to my diet so I can actually get toned. Unfortunately I'm underweight and still unhappy with the amount of fat that is on my body.0

Like they said... do more weight training. I follow the "body pump" program and it's been working so far.. my belly is tigher than it was. (Unfortunatly I have a lot more to lose!)0

lift weights and do HIIT if you like.
My waist didn't start getting smaller until I started lifting heavy (squats and deadlifts). Doing ab exercises won't help really unless you change your diet and lift weights.
ETA: If you are underweight doing start lifting heavier now. It burns fat to have muscles. Start a training program like new rules for lifting for women. Eat more protein now. I thought I could burn all my fat with just cardio and it got me no where.0 -
If you're already underweight and continue to eat low calorie and do only cardio you aren't going to help your situation, seriously.
You are at a good point now, stop doing excessive cardio, ramp up your diet, and start weight training now. If you continue to do only cardio you will continue losing muscle which will leave you with flab. Been there, done that.0 -
Well I am going to keep doing cardio daily, reguardless. I think it's good to keep that up at least, but I'll probably start lifting more and putting more protein in my diet.0

Daily steady state cardio will help burn calories but wont help build lean mass.
Do squats and deadlifts, cut cardio, eat above TDEE for a little while and you never know....0
