Period, PCOS & Bloating

I have PCOS and went years without a period. Since I've lost nearly 30 lbs my periods have started to regulate. I should be starting in a day or two and if I do it'll be the 4th month in a row! *fingers crossed*
My questions are:
How long (ladies) are you usually bloated and up in weight during period?
(I am going on my 2nd week. I've been up 3 lbs for over a week now. I'm hoping it goes back down after I start period in a couple days.)
And, how are you losing weight if you have PCOS? I am thinking low carb? With that being said, how many carbs per day?
Thanks!

I find I'm up in weight about 3-4 days before my period starts, then about 5 days into my period the weight starts to drop. Some people can gain up to 4kg (10lbs) whilst bloated. Bluh!0

Mine goes up the week before by 4-5 lbs, once period starts and I'm in and out of loo for next few days, peeing huge volumes, then it kind of goes back to normal levels as they are ending. Once they've finished I weigh again and usually have lost a few pounds besides the water that went on, however this month I didn't!
Only lost extra pound as spent all yesterday with sickness and the runs (in and out of loo all day), I had weighed day before and had gone back to same weight I was before they started! . but am down to my last 3 lbs now so maybe I'll only start losing 1 lb a month?0 -
I'm in the same boat..I never really paid attention to this and it made me mad when I stepped on the scale and gained three pounds but we will see next week0

All my research and in talking to my doctor, sugar is a huge culprit in changing your hormones and estrogen and progesterin levels that cause the cysts. This week I just started the Paleo diet (which may seem overly strict - but I'm an all or nothing person and need "rules"). It has helped greatly with the bloating, the monitoring of carbs and the lack of processed sugars I believe. But it has only been a week. Carbonated drinks too will not be your friend during that TOM as the carbonation AND sodium can wreak havoc.
Congrats on the weight loss and the reward your body is giving you.0 -
Thanks everyone. This helps me feel a little better about gaining during my period. I will just have to watch what I eat and stay positive!0

I get bloated from ovulation until after my period.0
