Anything short term is bound for failure. Weight loss and keeping it off involves a lifestyle change not a quick fix 3 day fad diet.
  • This is the one that I am using. I am on day 3 today. So far I have lost 4 pounds. I am just using it as a jumpstart because I lost 15 pounds and then gained a half of pound 3 weeks in a row. I use to do this back in high school too and it worked pretty well.

    3 DAY DIET

    DAY 1: BREAKFAST--1/2 GRAPEFRUIT, 1 SLICE TOAST,

2 TBS. PEANUT BUTTER, COFFEE OR TEA

LUNCH--1/2 CUP TUNA, 1 SLICE TOAST, COFFEE OR TEA

DINNER--2 SLICES ANY TYPE OF MEAT (ABOUT 3

OZ), 1 CUP GREEN BEANS, 1/2 BANANA, 1 SMALL

APPLE, 1 CUP VANILLA ICE CREAM

    DAY 2: BREAKFAST--1 EGG, 1 SLICE TOAST, 1/2 BANANA

LUNCH--1 CUP COTTAGE CHEESE (OR 1 SLICE

CHEDDAR CHEESE), 1 HARD BOILED EGG, 5

    SALTINE CRACKERS

DINNER--2 HOT DOGS, (no buns), 1 CUP BROCCOLI,

1/2 CUP CARROTS, 1/2 BANANA, 1/2 CUP VANILLA ICE CREAM

DAY 3: BREAKFAST--5 SALTINE CRACKERS, 1 SLICE CHEDDAR

    CHEESE, 1 SMALL APPLE

LUNCH--1 HARD BOILED EGG, 1 SLICE TOAST

DINNER--1 CUP TUNA, 1/2 BANANA, 1 CUP VANILLA ICE CREAM

I'm sad to say I've fell victim to fad diets in the past, namely the cabbage soup one. It works really well! That is until you eat like a normal person for a few weeks. It comes all back. And I do mean every last pound. And fast too, usually within a month or so. Not worth it in my opinion. If you want to try it you certainly can. But, remember that after you see the initial "huge loss" it will go back up, even staying within you cal goals after.

I used a variation of it years ago, I think it promised 5 pound loss each time. Of course the weight didn't stay off.
Having said that, it's probably not the worst fad diet as it includes all food groups (even ice cream!) and the calories don't seem bizarrely low

Like Stephanie, I like to use this diet as a "jumpstart" to get me back on track. Since it's only for three days, it seems easier to stick to and always works!
