Shin pain with 30 DS?

Did anyone else experience shin pain while doing the 30 DS? I just finished day 5 and my shins are killing me! They hurt the worst when I do the jumping. Is it ok to continue with it? The pain got so bad by the end of the video, I ended up on the floor in tears. Now I am sitting with frozen vegetables on my legs. LOL.
I don't want to end up with shin splints.
Do you think it would still be beneficial to just march in place or do the punches for cardio in place of the jumping cardio exercises?

Are you wearing shoes? Mine hurt when I did it barefoot. But once I wore shoes it didn't hurt as much.0

I don't have the shin pain, but my knee was killing me. I made it to day 9 and had to give it break, sadly I am still on that break until tomorrow. I can't allow myself to sit around any longer. The jumping jacks hurt but the lunges I think are what messed me up. Improper form or not enough stretching... idk... =/
When my knee was really hurting I would just do another cardio exercise that didn't make my knee feel like it was going to explode. I started getting the pain at about day 5 (like you) and by day 9 of the "i won't give up this easily" attitude, I just knew I couldn't keep on or I would probably really hurt myself. I have been trying to determine if the pain is because of the increased activity level or if it is because I hurt myelf. I think it is the increased activity. I haven't had any pain while doing normal activities... I will get back to you tomorrow if you like once I get back into JM Shred again.
On a side note, the last day I did the shred, my knee was hurting SOOOO bad, I was on the floor watching the dvd trying not to cry because I had to stop. I want to be at my goal so bad, I felt I had failed by needing a day off.. but I know taking it slower if my body tells me to, is the only way I will ever get there.
Good luck, take it a bit easIER.. I don't know anything at all about shin splints, just that people say they are super painful..
Sorry about any typos I may have.. just finishing up an all nighter doing homework for finals week in school.. lol.. super wore out!0 -

I'd deffo reccomend doing streches before you start the workout, it's probably just a barrier you need to push through, try alternating your days as well, so one day you do the entire workout and then next day just do some strength, until you feel ready to go at it in full again. If it keeps up after a few weeks you should deffo go see a doc hun x0

Another thing I would recommend is to cut out the jogging on the spot parts and jump on the spot instead, jogging on the spot can injure your legs / ankles because your leg isn't moving it's full rotation as it would when running normally. I think initially you will get pain from jumping on the spot but your body should get used to it and stop hurting soon. Try boxing while jumping lightly as well.0

I had the same problem with the 30DS until i started doing a few leaning calf stretches against a wall before I started, they really help. It's a great exercise for the lower legs and is especially helpful if you spend a lot of time in heels.0

My knees were killing me so I do all the cardio on a mini trampoline and it makes things much more comfortable!0

I've had a similar problem with what feels like behind my knee, haven't been able to do very much for over a week now which is truly deeply annoying as i was enjoying the shred. I don't want to do any damage (ever again) so i'm going to try and find something else to do in the lunging and star jumping bits. Anyone got any alternatives?0

I would be careful. I did the 30DS a year ago for about 10 days and I got a knee injury that lasted a few months. My doctor said for people with short ligaments or tight leg muscles they should go for a walk before even starting the warm up of exercise dvds like that to avoid injury.0
