A note to Aussies on Tablespoon measurements.

I just wanted to add this (I'm an expat Aussie BTW), as I just learnt it myself, although I always knew there was a difference between metric and imperial cup measurements, I assumed that teaspoons and tablespoons were abut the same, and in most cases they are, except for Australia. In case you didn't know (and I didn't), Aussie tablespoons are actually 20ml (Rather than around 15ml most other places - 14.7ml in USA), so though this may not make a difference in the great big scheme of life, and in the majority of food stuffs, it can actually be quite a large difference in something with a very high calorie count for example, like olive oil, (1 reg tbsp: 119 cals...Aussie tbsp 159 cals) It means you could actually be eating more than you are logging.

LOL I'm in Oz and I have 2 sets of measuring spoons. One has a 20mL tbsp The other has a 25mL tbsp. Maybe I should try and find a set with a 15mL and complete my set :laugh:0
