Hi.
I'm not used to telling anyone but my trainer about my fitness accomplishments, as for the most part, my loved ones simply don't get it. But I'm SO excited, that I have to tell someone...so MFP population: I'm talking to you!
Today was my fitness evaluation, something I've been doing roughly every 1 or 2 months since January at my gym to measure progress. I had been seeing positive changes when I'd look in the mirror, but nothing prepared me for this:
BF% - I did it!!! I am now at 19.2% which is considered "Excellent" for my age group (the top limit is 19.7%). I was at 22.6% in Jan 2012 and was aiming for 19.5%, so this was a huge surprise! Note that I started weight training in January (3x week) and watching what I eat in April.
And it just kept getting better:
- Push-ups (consecutive): Went from 2 in January to 20 now.
- Plank (consecutive): Went from 30sec to 2min.
- Squat machine (consecutive): Went from 20 reps at 110lbs to 40 reps.
- 3min Step Test: Went from 136bpm to 99bpm
I am proud of myself as the hard work I put in everyday is paying off....and that makes me happy!
